so i've been watching a lot of horror movies lately. i suppose i always watch horror films, but even more so when it's the season. i stumbled across a new blog the other day that i really enjoyed. it's the obscure hollow + it's for love of all things haunted. they were looking for contributors, so i signed up. be sure to stop in.
these photos are from the fall of the house of usher (1928). it's the french silent version directed by jean epstein of the avant-garde set. of course there are several film versions of this story. i'm quite partial the the vincent price version, house of usher (1960). but this silent version is one of my favorites. it's the kind of film that creeps inside you. perfect for halloween.
